After several years of being presented in different european cities the European Canivorous Plants Exhibition and Exchange (EEE) returns to its place of "birth ". It will be held at the weekend of 23rd/24th of September 2006 at the Botanical Garden of the University of Bonn, Germany. Organizers are the G.F.P. (Carnivorous Plant Society for the German-speaking Areas) and the Botanical Garden of the University of Bonn. The main focus of the event will certainly lie upon sale and exchange of carnivorous plants. But there will also be plenty of time to socialize and exchange experiences with other growers from different countries and cp societies. The programme will also include some talks and slideshows.
All lovers of carnivorous plants from far and wide are cordially invited to participate in the event.
Programme:
Annual Meeting of the G.F.P.
The annual meeting of the G.F.P. (in German) will be held on Saturdday afternoon beginning at 15:00 a.m.
Canivorous Plants Exchange/ Sale:
Canivorous Plants Exchange/ Sale will be open on both days from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Delivery of plants will already be possible on Friday afternoon; please try to deliver your plants not later than 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Participation at the Plant Exchange is free for those with small amounts of plants. Larger sellers and nurseries will have to pay a moderate fee for the sale which will be set by the Botanical Garden. All suppliers of plants are asked to register for the amount of space required. Larger sellers and nurseries should do this as soon as possible because unfortunately some limitations on the space provided apply. All others can also announce themselves at short notice.
The organizers expect that the rules of CITES will be strictly followed.
On saturday afternoon and sunday morning there will be slide presentations/ talks in English. Speakers and topics are as follows (in the preliminary order of presentation):
Moreover Prof. Dr. W. Barthlott will present a public talk to the visitors of the Botanical Garden at 18:15 on Saturday (in German).
Extra sales table of the G.F.P.
We followed a suggestion of some members ot the european EEE-group to set up a general sales table for people who bring just a few plants for sale and donīt want to stay at a booth of their own all the time. This sales tables will be looked after by one or two volunteers who sell the plants, so that the others can walk around freely.
If you want to use this service, please observe and consider the following rules:
Entrance fee for members of carnivorous plants societies
Normally the Botanical Garden in Bonn takes an entrance fee of two Euros per person during the exhibition/ plants exchange. For members of carnivorous plants societies the entrance to the show will be for free for himself and one companion. However you need to have some kind of identification for the cashier at the entrance gate. For members of the G.F.P. this legitimation will be published in the upcoming issue of "Der Rundbrief". If you are a member of another society you have two options to obtain your proper identification. You can either request that a identification card will be mailed to you. Or - as an easier road to go - you can just announce to the organizers (please use the registration address above, preferrably py email) that you will be visiting the EEE. From these names we will prepare a list of names which will be used by the cashier at the entrance gate for identification. (Unfortunately we cannot offer the identification card for download and print, as was originally mentioned)
